The platforms at Narcisco Rodriguez are so reminiscent of my very first platform shoe (purchased at Aldo) that they struck in me an instant affinity. Love.

I have a thing for a good longline coat, and Raf Simons does a damn good longline coat (inspiration derived from the Edwardian era, no less); they're so timelessly elegant. But, essentially every piece in this collection could be described in the same manner, as long as you make sure to include "light" and "modern" in the description as well because the clothes were that, too.

preen s/s '10
Loving the easy, modern silhouettes at Preen. Its the small details the I love in this collection. The shot of lemon yellow in the one shouldered dress (above) and the hot pink piping on the slim lace-patch trouser. My ab fave has to be the slouchy silk pantsuit.

rag and bone s/s '10
For s/s '10 I'm definitely leaning towards pieces with simple cuts and neutral palettes. Not to mention the wearability factor...if I can picture someone wearing it on the street, I like it more. For instance, I know everyone has been going gaga over Rodarte's collection but I think its much too theatrical and a wee bit ott. Don't get me wrong, the Mulleavys are extremely talented and the clothes themselves are works of art..but I can't get over the fact that the collection is geared more towards a rock opera than streetwear.

I love these perfume bottle dresses by Mary Katrantzou (f/w '09). The bottle's hourglass shape gives the illusion of a cinched waist. The opaque black tight sets off the rich colors of the dresses and really anchors the whole look. I would also consider wearing a dress with a Chanel No. 5 bottle on it (are you listening Karl??)
