I've been more than a little intrigued about DJ/TV hostess/model/fashion icon Alexa Chung, it girl du jour among the bi-coastal (read: London and New York) fashion set. I thought she was one of those effortlessly cool came-from-old-money British chicks who was serendipitously discovered by a modeling agent at an indie rock concert or hanging out in London's uber-stylish Brick Lane Market. The wiki version states that she was most recently discovered at 16 in the comedy tent at Reading Festival and was subsequently signed on to Storm Model Management. Since then she's been featured on various UK T4 shows, among them Gok's Fashion Fix, and Frock Me!

Alexa is the second-most recent British style import to New York City after Topshop, putting down roots in hipster paradise, Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If ever the need arises to borrow a cup of sugar (or tea?) she doesn't have to go very far as she can count Daisy Lowe, Agyness Deyn and Peaches Geldof as neighbours. Alexa's move stateside is rumored to be because of a hosting job for a new TRL-ish show for MTV.
