Too sexy for your shoes?

Witness exhibit A: sky-high platform ankle boots by Pleaser...I freakin' LOVE these. And I know what you're thinking.."Slutty hooker boots!". Not exactly. Karla of Karla's Closet rocks these with skinny jeans, and opaque tights with girly dresses. I probably wouldn't have ever thought of buying these if I hadn't seen them on Karla; she pulls them off with aplomb!

Needless to say, these boots would be a teeny bit controversial to wear in fashion-conservative (read: boring) Halifax so I'm not entirely sure if I'll be ordering these anytime soon. BUT, I have been craving serious platforms lately and have been unsuccessful in finding the perfect pair... so we'll see!
In the meantime, check out some of Karla's outfits paired with the aforementioned boots.

Michelle loves Tom

No, its not that Tom (thank God). First Lady Michelle Obama is in the midst of a love affair with jewelry designer Tom Binns (myself included). At the Governor's Ball, Michelle accessorized her stunning Peter Soronen gown with Binns' Pearls in Peril. The result? Absolute perfection. Here she is (below) with her handsome, charming husband.

Fashion flock (of seagulls)

Marc Jacobs' ode to the lost decade (aka the '80s) was one of my favorite lines of New York Fashion Week. For many, the intensely-hued line was a welcome diversion from the somber palettes that seemed to dominate other shows; a mood which, I suppose, is in keeping with the current economic situation, however MJ's clothes were a refreshing break. Here are some of my fave looks from the show (check out the sunglasses!!):
