3 things

I have no idea who makes the leather jacket but it needs to find its way into my life.

If I had an iPhone 5 I would totally buy this Marc Jacobs foil-covered case.

cfda awards 2013 best dressed

1. Lily Aldridge in The Row. Modern elegance at its best, and those cherry red ruffled mules are tdf.

2. Nicole Richie in Marc Jacobs. Her slipdress is like liquid bronze, it falls beautifully over her bod. The tasteful side boob (errrm, oxymoron?) and backless cut are sexy but not too revealing. Minimal accessories allow the dress to speak for itself.

3. Lauren Santo Domingo in Proenza Schouler. This edgy-yet-soft gown from the f/w 2013 collection is perfect. I love that she kept her hair and makeup simple.

I don't wear dresses but I would happily make an exception for this leopard print dream by Marc Jacobs. Kate Moss wore the dress to a book signing, check out the pics here.

Probably my favorite Marc Jacobs collections captured in beautiful detail by Juergen Teller. This is one of the best fall 2010 campaigns I've seen.

I would say this is probably one of my favorite Marc Jacobs collections ever. It was only two seasons ago (fall 2009) that the designer gave the fashion world clothes that evoked the '80s New York party scene. To go from a collection with such mega-watt intensity to this one, with beautifully calm and nostalgic clothes is so amazing. I definitely get a 1950's fresh-out-of college school teacher vibe with the tea-length wool skirts and ankle socks worn with kitten-heel pumps. The checked three-piece suit, so '70s menswear but the way the fabric falls is pure femininity. There is one look in particular (guess which one) had me recall this photo of a young Anna Wintour. Clothes that evoke a sense of emotion in people is so rare nowadays, and this is exactly what this collection has done. Read Tavi's review and you'll know exactly what I mean.

Have you ever seen a gown so delightfully weird and ethereal? Could only be Marc Jacobs. Christina Ricci recently wore it here.

This velvet studded cape by Bess has Kate written all over it. And speaking of Miss Moss, NAP has the gold lamé Marc Jacobs dress she wore to the 2009 Met Gala. Will prob sell out in a nanosecond.

Marc Jacobs Advertising by Juergen Teller
All Marc Jacobs' campaigns since since the late nineties have been photographed by Juergen Teller and this book is a collection of all campaign images from 1998 to 2009. Teller's photographs are highly identifiable by the model's awkward poses, mostly unglamorous surroundings and bright, brash lighting. Victoria Beckham, Cindy Sherman and Sofia Coppola are among the likes of the subjects of Jacobs' campaigns.

Fashion flock (of seagulls)

Marc Jacobs' ode to the lost decade (aka the '80s) was one of my favorite lines of New York Fashion Week. For many, the intensely-hued line was a welcome diversion from the somber palettes that seemed to dominate other shows; a mood which, I suppose, is in keeping with the current economic situation, however MJ's clothes were a refreshing break. Here are some of my fave looks from the show (check out the sunglasses!!):
