I would say this is probably one of my favorite Marc Jacobs collections ever. It was only two seasons ago (fall 2009) that the designer gave the fashion world clothes that evoked the '80s New York party scene. To go from a collection with such mega-watt intensity to this one, with beautifully calm and nostalgic clothes is so amazing. I definitely get a 1950's fresh-out-of college school teacher vibe with the tea-length wool skirts and ankle socks worn with kitten-heel pumps. The checked three-piece suit, so '70s menswear but the way the fabric falls is pure femininity. There is one look in particular (guess which one) had me recall this photo of a young Anna Wintour. Clothes that evoke a sense of emotion in people is so rare nowadays, and this is exactly what this collection has done. Read Tavi's review and you'll know exactly what I mean.
