altuzarra resort 2014

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why Carine loves Joseph Altuzarra's designs. This collection had Altuzarra's usual MO of sexy, figure-skimming pieces, albeit a little looser. The folkloric elements of past collections continued here with prints, embroidery and fringe-y touches. Delicate eyelash lace insets added a romantic touch to an otherwise sleek pantsuit; this detail also came out in dresses and a blouse.

altuzarra f/w 2013

Joseph Altuzarra designs some of the sexiest clothes evaaarrrr. I was convinced that he designed this collection specifically for Carine and then I read this in the review: "More than anybody this collection looked like Carine Roitfeld, the former editor in chief of Paris Vogue who is Altuzarra's biggest muse." Called it #justsayin. The trench coat-inspired dresses and skirtsuits are tdf and body con all the way. I loved how the shrunken motorcycle jackets were worn over trench coats, a look I can totally see people mimicking in the near future; and let's not forget those precisely-tailored pants. Oh, and the zippered pencil skirts and dresses cut just below the hip with sheer chiffon skirts are just amazing.

the ones i love

Evidently I'm thinking about spring already. These are some of my favorite shoes from the s/s 2013 collections. Clockwise from top left: Givenchy, Altuzarra, Alejandro Ingelmo, Salvatore Ferragamo.
