A documentary I cannot wait to see is this one, directed by Fabien Constant. Mademoiselle C follows the inimitable Carine Roitfeld around while she is in the process of setting up her own magazine, CR Fashion Book. For those of you dying to catch a rare glimpse of a day in the life of Carine (myself included), this film is a must-see. Check out the trailer here.

à bout de souffle
À bout de souffle (Breathless) was re-released at Film Forum in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Rialto Pictures has also collaborated with Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte to create t shirts inspired by what Jean Seberg wears in the film (here). The more I hear about this film, the more I want to see it.

star-cross'd

William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet (1996) is probably my favorite film of all time. It didn't hurt that I had a massive crush on Leonardo DiCaprio, but never has one movie impacted me on an emotional and sensory level like this one. There is dazzling cinematography and art direction, gorgeous sets and sexy costuming (Claire Danes' angel costume was actually by Miu Miu). Fittingly enough, the film's art director and set decorator were nominated for Oscars in 1997 in their respective categories.
