I was perusing The Sartorialist last night, wandering aimlessly through the hundreds and hundreds of photographs trying to find one in particular. Its of a French girl in Hyères wearing different tones of blues and greys. She is standing on a street where the light and shade, exposed brick and crumbling walls perfectly compliment and even further highlight her clothes. She is quintessentially "French", meaning she has that certain je ne sais quoi...a quality I've never been able to distinguish in girls of any other country. Its that girlish, playful smile and big, knowing, sparkling eyes...she reminds me a little of Audrey Tautou in Amélie. Ever since I'd initially seen this photograph, it was basically stuck in my head and I would return to look at it again and again and subsequently find something new to admire about it.
