Town and Field was the title of Christopher Bailey's fall/winter 2012 show for Burberry. The 'town' portion of the looks usually consisted of a cropped jacket or urban puffer coat. The 'field' or country-fied aspects was a plethora of herringbone, tweed and corduroy in the forms of (mainly) pencil skirts with softening diagonal ruffles and peplums; voluminous coats and blazers were cinched at the waist with ruched or cord bow belts, lending a touch of sweetness to the looks. Sweatshirts embroidered with whimsical owls, dogs and sparrows were worn underneath. Next to the charming tweed newsboy caps, my favorite accessories were the striped brollies carried out by the models while Bailey made it rain.
