Karl Lagerfeld's collection for Chanel couture fall 2012, themed "new vintage" is a lesson in beautiful tailoring and execution. The boxier silhouettes spoke of a bygone era (Tim Blanks cites the '40s) albeit with new life breathed in; the classic tweed looks are actually embroidery on tulle (could have fooled me), and metallic accents, lending a youthful feel to the garments of which the color palette was dusty pinks, gray, silver, black and white.
