cfda awards 2013 best dressed

1. Lily Aldridge in The Row. Modern elegance at its best, and those cherry red ruffled mules are tdf.

2. Nicole Richie in Marc Jacobs. Her slipdress is like liquid bronze, it falls beautifully over her bod. The tasteful side boob (errrm, oxymoron?) and backless cut are sexy but not too revealing. Minimal accessories allow the dress to speak for itself.

3. Lauren Santo Domingo in Proenza Schouler. This edgy-yet-soft gown from the f/w 2013 collection is perfect. I love that she kept her hair and makeup simple.

This is undoubtedly one of my favorite Proenza collections to date. With a palette of stark black and white and the occasional hint of peach and icy blue, the clothes and accessories were more sophisticated and paired-down. Lots of lace and soft, rounded leather. The chain-mail pieces were definitely memorable, and added a bit of toughness to an otherwise "soft" collection.

proenza schouler pre-fall 2013

An urban collection with graphic graffiti-esque logo prints, boxy leather outerwear, leather accents, frocks bearing vibrantly hued photo prints and super covetable footwear (especially those checkered sandals).

proenza schouler s/s 2013

Insanely cool perforated and patchwork leather in brights and reptillian print gave way to slinky dresses with lace cutouts and dresses bearing wildly vivid photoprints of kids playing in a pool and beach scenes overlayed with colored studs. This is not a collection for the wallflower.

So. The round-shouldered tweed coats are genius; the colorblocking (apparently its not over yet) and leather piping really makes them stand out. I especially love the mid-length version paired with slouchy faded jeans. A great use of leather in the cropped pants and in the light weight shirting. One more thing, the super wide-leg pants.. major. Have a closer look at the beyond sick metallic PS1 the above model is toting on Columbine's blog. You. Will. Die.
