Diane Von Furstendburg took some flack for the s/s '08 campaign, which featured Natalia Vodianova shot and illustrated by French photog François-Marie Banier. The illustrations and vibrant hues obstruct what should be the main focus of the ad- the clothes. Personally, I think it is the artistry that really commands the attention of the viewer and adds an element of intrigue. Plus, anyone familiar with the DVF aesthetic knows bright color and bold prints are always incorporated into her designs.
