this is 40

Forty (!!) years ago today, Katherine Ann Moss was born. Who knew she would grow up to be one of the world's foremost style icons; and iconic in so many other ways. Kate is the embodiment of cool, of the I-don't-give-a-fuck-what-you-think attitude (she is still slammed for her now-infamous quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"). She is fashion's sphinx: unmistakeable in image, yet still somewhat of an enigma.

In celebration of her 40th birthday, an exhibit entitled Kate Moss: 40 - A Retrospective, by journalist-turned-artist Russel Marshall will open at the Intimate Modern Gallery in London from January 17 until February 15. Read more on the exhibit here.

Happy Birthday Kate!

For the past 13 years, designers including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Isabel Marant, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano have designed avant-garde Christmas trees for the holiday exhibit Les sapins de noël des créateurs (Designers' Christmas Trees) in Paris. This year the exhibit is taking place at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine from December 8 through the 14.
