karl

My fave pieces from Karl Lagerfeld's slick collection for net-a-porter, aptly titled KARL. Have a peek at the rest of the downtown looks here.

addicted

I've always loved Karl's ability to inject tongue-in-cheek humor into the Chanel collections. For spring 2007 RTW, pills emblazoned with the interlocking Cs were embroidered onto dresses, bags and made into kitschy accessories; the theme being "fashion addiction".

This man is a self-marketing machine. If you follow fashion, you'll recognize that silhouette anywhere.

For the past 13 years, designers including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Isabel Marant, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano have designed avant-garde Christmas trees for the holiday exhibit Les sapins de noël des créateurs (Designers' Christmas Trees) in Paris. This year the exhibit is taking place at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine from December 8 through the 14.

joe fresh s/s '10

Joe Fresh for spring 2010 was just that: fresh. Muted pastels provided the palette to a fun, girly collection. The ubiquitous no-pants trend from the Paris, New York and Milan runways popped up in the forms of hotpants, bodysuits and bloomers. Gingham bras were layered atop crisp oxford shirts and the minimal leg-wear consisted mainly of white, pink and nude fishnet knee highs. Some of my favorite pieces were the mesh tees with rosette appliqués and a cream-hued lacey coat with a prim Peter Pan collar. I'm also very excited about the footwear: pink pennyloafers and -wait for it- clogs. Yes, Joe went the direction of Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel in terms of footwear sending out adorable pink and white clogs (albeit sans heel, à la Chanel). I'm actually more into the pennyloafers but whatevs. Definitely looking forward to this collection hitting stores!
