Spanish Moss Vintage has the best vintage band tees online. Obvi, ones like these always sell out 5 minutes they're posted.

This is my new (to me) vintage woven bucket bag I bought from Etsy shop santoki vintage. I'm usually extremely picky when it comes to buying bags but I instantly fell in love with this one. Its definitely the most colorful thing I own.

I really need to start looking at prices before becoming obsessed with a piece. Case in point- this stunning vintage silk Givenchy Nouvelle Boutique gown. I'm perusing the new dresses on Nasty Gal when I come across this dress. Love at first sight then I see the price...$1200. The azure blue, the swirly silver print and the gold bead and rhinestone trim at the plunging neckline... I die. Whoever runs away with this beauty is a very lucky girl.

Found: the perfect jean

I have been looking EVERYWHERE for the perfect slouchy/skinny jean and today on shopbop.com I found it!!!!!!!! Its by Current/Elliott and it has the perfect vintage wash and a gorgeous louche shape. Unfortunately I'm still on my shopping moratorium until NYC in April. Sad.

On a completely unrelated note, I found a sick website that sells vintage and new pieces: Nasty Gal. The clothes are beautiful and affordable (vintage YSL Rive Gauche dress for only $218!) AND they freakin' ship to Canada!!! I never find shopping sites I love that ship to Canada. So excited!

New York, New York

I'm heading to one of my favorite cities in the world in April.. New York!! (Did the title give it away?) I'm already being a total planning nerd and looking at places to shop and eat! (I do this for every single trip I take).

So far there are the obvious choices (for me, anyway) : Zara, Urban Outfitters, J. Crew, Steve Madden, H&M (Matthew Williamson's line débuts the DAY I arrive!!) and Topshop (America's first flagship store opens in Soho on April 2!!). Then there are the less-than-obvious choices, the vintage stores. Halifax has an unfortunate number of vintage stores, and I seem to have the worst luck in discovering pieces worth the treck and dry-cleaning fees.

New York City, on the other hand, has a plethora of vintage shops with hidden gems just waiting to be unearthed. I will only be in the city for 4 days and this fact alone makes it difficult to select which shops merit a visit. This is where my nerdy research skills come in handy!

I based my picks on positive customer reviews, prices, reputation, and location (as I won't be venturing outside of Manhattan). Here are my picks (soo excited to check these out!):
1. Screaming Mimi's, 382 Lafayette St.
2. Daha Vintage, 175 Orchard St. Frnt
3. Zachary's Smile, 9 Greenwich Ave.
4. Fox & Fawn, 112 Suffolk St.

All of these shops are located downtown (LES, Soho, etc.) so a full day will have to be devoted to these neighborhoods!
