Soon I'll be nestled all snug in my bed, with visions of Givenchy (and Chanel and Balenciaga) dancing in my head.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Hey guys! I hope you're enjoying the holiday season! I am loving it! Here's something totally random to kick off your Friday:

Tell me:

1. Your fave Christmas movie
2. Your fave Christmas tune
3. The number one item on your wishlist
4. A family Christmas tradition

awesome

Last week, Beth tagged me for an 'Awesome Girl' blogger award. Thank you Beth, so sweet! Now I'm supposed to list 10 random things about myself and tag 10 other bloggers. I'm just going to tag whoever wants to do it :)
1. New York is probably my most favorite city, I go there every chance I get
2. I am far too lazy to use nail-polish remover on my toes and just let the polish chip its way off
3. I've seen Home Alone more times than any normal person should
4. I'm addicted to oatmeal chocolate chip cookie dough
5. I love true-crime shows like The First 48, Crime 360, American Justice and Cold Case Files
6. I don't drive. Being behind the wheel of a car completely freaks me out
7. I used to "design" clothes when I was a kid and my parents have kept all my drawings
8. I am obsessed with names. I love coming up with names for no apparent reason at all...my friends even bought me a baby names book for my 12th birthday
9. I always have to check three times to see if a door is locked (mild ocd)
10. This is very unfashion-y of me, but the first thing I do when I get home is put on my sweatpants. Heaven.

sweepin' the clouds away

Diane von Furstenburg and Big Bird

Vera Wang and Abby Cadabby (why do I not remember this character??)

Derek Lam and Thakoon Panichgul with Bert & Ernie!

Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa and Grover!

Carolina Herrera and Elmo (my fave)

Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy with Cookie Monster!!

Oscar and Oscar..ha!

I know what you're thinking...Miss Piggy and now Sesame Street? Yeah but its the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street! It used to be one of my favorite shows to watch when I was a kid. I was really happy to see this in Harper's Bazaar's September issue because I've found their editorials of the last few issues to be dull and uninspired. This one is by no means spectacular but it reminds you that fashion is supposed to be fun, playful and not taken seriously.

iwantcandy

Far too pretty to eat. Although my sweet tooth would get the better of me and I probably would anyway.

UPDATE: Style Geek found out that the cupcakes are made by a Miami-based company called Cupcakes Nouveau. Their website doesn't say anything about national or international orders so I'm guessing they don't do them. Boo.

Friday night is perfect for ginormous crayon duels and bed jumping in your underwear.

Ladies and gentlemen, I went to see Star Trek last night and let me just say you MUST see this movie!!! Everything about it is beyond amazing. I'm by no means a Trekkie and I loved it. Go see it now.

Ok, done with that...

Very tongue-in-cheek of Karl Lagerfeld to tote the KARL WHO? bag by Naco-Paris. I love that he has a sense of humor about himself (although its rarely seen). Most recently he poked fun of his penchant for chic sunnies in the form of the Karl Lagerfeld bag at the Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2009 RTW show.

in time

I love this song (performed by Robbie Rob) from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (the movie is rad, too). Actually, the whole soundtrack is great. Don't forget to press stop on my iPod playlist before you give it a listen! PS - isn't Keanu such a babe???
Happy Friday!!!

Puzzled

A limited edition jigsaw puzzle for purchase on ICP of model Meghan Collison photographed by Steven Meisel, an image that originally appeared in Vogue Italia. With the multiple crazy prints, it could be the most potentially difficult puzzle I've ever seen.
Ya want it????
$750
Keep in mind you can't afford to lose any pieces.

In Cannes

There seems to be a lot...no, scratch that, some..well, just a little bit of commotion surrounding the outfit Charlotte Gainsbourg donned to the Antichrist photocall in Cannes: leather jacket, slouchy tee, faded black denim, and brown cowboy boots. At first glance, it looks like Ms. Gainsbourg could be heading to a dude ranch. No, she's only at one of the most glamourous star-studded affairs in the enchanting south of France. Personally, I like the outfit. Its unequivocal Parisienne it-girl style...that "I-just-fell-out-of-bed-and-threw-this-on-to-grab-a-baguette-but-I-still-look-fabulous" look. But is it suitable for Cannes? No, I don't really think so. Any event at the Cannes film festival warrants a pantsuit at the very least. But, who am I to judge? You tell me. PS - I don't know where the "Cannes Do, Cannes Don't" shit came from...I'm kind of a geek.

Garance and Scott

Spent some of the morning of my day off (Happy Victoria Day!) surfing to my usual daily fashion reads and surfed my way over to Garance Doré's blog (who I ♥) and she is evidently superexcited about having her and Scott sketched by a blogger called The Unknown Hipster, (aka Jean-Philippe Delhomme) who, before today I'd never heard of but I'm glad Garance wrote about him because he does some really great sketches (i.e. above).
Note: I apologize for the ginormous run-on sentence..usually I'm a little bit more careful with my grammar..heehee.
